artAZ first aired in February 2007, to fill a gap in the cultural landscape of Greece. At the time there were no organised online art platforms and the overall presence of galleries and art establishments online was meagre, to say the least. We launched as an artists’ database, featuring 80+ artists as well as galleries, local and international art news and resources. We were quickly established as the #1 online destination for art lovers.
In 2010 we entered our second face, further modernising our look and expanding our services, scope and reach. Within that era we reached around 170 featured artists and engineered collaborations with important art institutions, cementing our reputation as the go-to platform for contemporary Greek art.
In 2013 we made a major switch, adopting a gallery format, while at the same time continuing to act as the hub of Greek art.
Our current, 4th and slightly overdue, reincarnation takes us to yet another new direction. We are at this point connected to a vast network of local and international artists and galleries and are in position to cater for all art-related needs. We prefer not to define ourselves in any specific way; we are promoting the artistic discourse and facilitating relationships between artists and audiences, making art accessible to all, as we believe it should be.
This website, our online headquarters, will be the chief vehicle for our interaction.
This is the first phase of our new state of being.
More new things will ensue.
Join us in this new adventure and let’s marvel in the magic of art together.
